Executive Summary of Candidate We Are Seeking:

  • Electric Power Industry Background: Would come from any of the below fields: ADMS, DERMS, distribution and Behind the Meter (BTM) analytics, smart grid, VPP, DR, planning SW, MDM software, etc.
  • Relationships: An individual who has experience working with decision makers and technical influencers at Investor-Owned Utilities (IOUs), and at deregulated energy companies. Understands utility and energy markets from an operations and business model perspective, including how enterprise software is procured.
  • Account Management: Has shown the ability to advocate for accounts for project delivery and product roadmap
  • Industry Credibility: Ability to be accepted as a Trusted Advisor and provide Thought Leadership
  • Has experience in the enterprise software sales process
  • Is an independent worker and thinker
  • Has an infectious excitement, will motivate and excite others

Scope and Responsibilities:

  • Lead sales support activities for assigned accounts
  • Create and maintain technical and business relationships with prospects and customers within region
  • Engage with prospects through technical discussions and product demonstrations as a Trusted Advisor, establishing an understanding of customer needs so that proposed solution is well suited for customer
  • Support the development of Thought Leadership in the industry through conferences, working groups, whitepapers, etc.
  • Define technical architecture and solution strategy for proposals to customers within region
  • Manage technical and bid response to customers in region
  • Assist sales team in qualifying prospects
  • Provide product, customer and business knowledge to sales team
  • Transition successful proposals to delivery team
  • Continue technical engagement with customers during project delivery

Experience / Skills Required:

  • Demonstrated ability as part of the sales team for solutions to the power distribution and energy markets
  • Highly knowledgeable of the industry trends, business requirements, software needs, applications, and current solutions to support distribution grid operations, distributed energy resources and energy markets
  • Excellent technical sales presentation and demonstration skills
  • Excellent proposal writing skills
  • Proven strategic marketing ability. In it for the ‘long game’
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, able to interact well with all levels and parts of organizations
  • Strong time management skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • 7 – 15 years applicable industry experience
